Key Responsibilities of an Emergency Nurse:

• Rapid Assessment and Triage: Quickly evaluate incoming patients, determining the severity of their condition and prioritizing care accordingly.
• Patient Care: Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians, including starting IV lines, setting fractures, and performing basic procedures.
• Monitoring and Documentation: Continuously monitor vital signs and patient condition, documenting findings and notifying physicians of any changes.
• Wound Care: Provide wound care, including cleaning, dressing, and suturing as needed.
• Collaboration: Work with other ER staff members, doctors, and specialists to ensure timely and effective patient care.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals regarding their condition and treatment plan.
• Equipment Management: Ensure all equipment and medical instruments are sterile and functioning correctly.
• Education: Educate patients and families on post-treatment care and follow-up instructions.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessments, treatments, and progress notes.
• Patient Transfer: Assist with the transfer of stable patients to other hospital departments or facilities.
• Compliance: Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures related to patient care and safety.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of emergency medical procedures and protocols.
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
